Q. Why do you not sell retail?

A. In the past we sold both retail and wholesale and found it very hard to keep all parties happy. In 1999 we decided to focus on selling only to our resellers. We have many very good companies who promote our company very well, and the fact that WE WILL NOT sell to the public, builds the trust we have with our resellers. Bottom line is that you can get our products worldwide and if you every have any problems locating our products, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will line you up with someone.

Q. What does the coding represent on your sporrans?

A. The way that we foil our sporrans now is on the tab, on the back of the sporrans. Most of our product uses a 3 alpha, 4 numeric code. A code like MSL-1001 can be broken down as: M=Manufactured, S=Sporran, L=Leather while the numeric code normally starts at 1000 and goes up by 1.

Q. Do you manufacture you own feather bonnets?

A. Yes. Although we are relatively new to the manufacturing of feather bonnet, we spent several years getting all of the raw materials, before we started. We are very pleased with the quality of the feathers we use, as well with the strength of the inner cage.

Q. Why don’t you start manufacturing a breathable pipe bag?

A. It is something that we continue to look at, and we have several prototypes in various stages, but, there continues to be a demand for our hide bags. Not all pipers require the expensive alternatives to a hide bag. The actual maintenance required to keep a hide bag going is actually less than many of the “new” technology bags.

Q. Why don’t you sell inexpensive imported products?

A. This is something we feel very strong about, we will not compete with the off shore imports. We feel very strongly that our products are far superior and we take great pride in our tradition. By employing skilled Nova Scotian Artisans, we are able to continue our heritage. By selling imports next to our products, we feel this would not be correct.
